Mitchell is a Master of Social Work student at the University of Washington who is completing his final year internship with Aging Wisdom. Mitchell has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Prior to interning with Aging Wisdom, he has worked in mental health and vocational counseling with adults, as well as residential care for youth.
While shadowing a primary care doctor during undergraduate studies, he realized that many factors besides the biological affect a person’s health. This started him on a search for careers that considered the whole person. The University of Washington’s emphasis on multigenerational practice stood out because it not only saw individuals holistically, but also considered the generations above and below them. Mitchell is always looking to encourage families and help them navigate the complex challenges of aging well together.
When he is not at Aging Wisdom or studying for class, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and daughter. Growing up in Kansas, the mountains and ocean are always calling.
